What do the 2024 Chemistry Nobel Prize and Wi-Fi Have in Common?

This year's Chemistry Nobel Prize was awarded for AI methods solving the 3D structure of proteins - a field I worked in. Like Wi-Fi, AI methods initially met with strong criticism from skeptical protein researchers/domain experts. Yet, upon realizing how these methods can answer previously unsolved problems, many skeptics became strong believers. This talk will highlight the importance of data, objectively analyzing tools and convincing skeptics with results and robustness.
