A "Brewster’s Millions" Story of Wi-Fi Deployment

You have 30 days to deploy >3000 access points.”  The environment is a large campus with a large number of buildings that each have unique materials, cabling infrastructure, and AP layout types.  You also need to include all new high availability routers, controllers, core switches, edge switches, UPSs, with more fiber and Ethernet patch cables than you can count.  And you cannot ask for (much) help.

Thus was the mandate for Comcast Business to take over a home-grown 10+ year old Wi-Fi network and build a “right-sized” modern Wi-Fi network to meet the ever-increasing clients and bandwidth consumption.  This presentation shall review the good, the bad, and the ugly of performing very large deployments at very high speeds, highlighting many of the lessons learned of what needs to be done before, during, and after these deployments to ensure such rollouts go as smoothly as possible.
