As founder and former CEO of Ookla (and one of the creators of Speedtest), I am on an “apology tour” for convincing the world that good connectivity and speed are defined by bandwidth capacity alone. I’ll be joined by my colleague Josh Hardy, CTO of Orb, and together we’ll dig into the speed dilemma while exploring a fresh definition of lag - which quantifies the effects of underlying network conditions on responsiveness. We’ll set up an on-stage lab and share some real-world examples which showcase why we need to stop chasing speed and instead focus on eliminating lag.
