Transmit power is just transmit power, right? You put 14 dBm in the planning tool, 14 dBm the infrastructure vendor's UI, and they will match, right?
Sometimes yes, but often no. Depending on the vendor, they might use Per-Chain Conducted Power, Total Conducted/Total Power Out, EIRP, or something else like "1/2".
Half? Half of what?!
It's a tangled mess, which is saying a lot for a technology that uses an unbounded medium! What do all of these mean, who uses what, and how can you translate between them when going from design to deployment?
In this presentation, we'll sort this out in a practical way (while keeping the mathematics to a minimum).
